American-owned El Patagon is located in a spectacular setting and can provide you with a once in a lifetime fly-fishing experience. You'll find every water type and fishing condition that you've read and dreamed about. You'll encounter large numbers of fish as well as a number of large fish. Both beginning and advanced anglers will enjoy fly fishing here. Styles range from wading and fishing big, easily seen dry flies and terrestrials to utilizing fast-sinking lines while drifting with streamers. Depending on when you are there, you may have the chance to see "white-out" caddis storms or large Cantaria beetles. It pays to listen to your guides and cast some of the flies they have specially created for this area.
Many of the waters around El Patagon were not fished until the lodge's guides developed the techniques and brought in specialized boats such as 18-foot catarafts to fish them. In short, you fish waters that others don't access because they can't! Float tubes and walk/wade trips are also offered to those who enjoy them. In fact, you reach one of the most productive smaller rivers by a very pleasant horseback ride and floating out in special 14-foot rafts to a pick-up point downstream.
“Our family of eight vacationed and fished at both Yan Kee Way and El Patagon. We all agreed it was our best trip ever. The combination of great fishing, adventure expeditions and luxury has to be unmatched anywhere.” ~ Mike Riley, Kona, Hawaii
The fishing and the scenery are both fantastic, and the variety of water types and the environment make this one of the most memorable fishing expeditions to be had anywhere in the world.
