Salmo Patagonia Fishing
Salmo Patagonia Lodge offers an ever-expanding selection of fishing in November through mid-April where you are the only anglers. On these exclusive waters, you can cast to rising brown or rainbow trout or tease up king, silver, and Atlantic salmon in total seclusion. It is not uncommon for anglers to catch and release over 50 brown and rainbow trout per day. Our clients land trophy trout from 5 to 20 plus pounds every week.
Salmo Patagonia Lodge offers the greatest variety and quantity of public and private waters in Chile, if not the world. It's the most consistent trout fishing on earth for size, quality and quantity.
Superb dry fly, wet fly and nymph fishing are all available. You may also sight fish with hoppers or over amazing mayfly hatches. You can wade fish, fish via float or jet boat, or in a float tube. Travel to the fishing is accomplished by super-cab four-wheel drive trucks, horseback or four wheel drive ATVs.
Lodge operator, Luis Antunez, owns and leases close to 30,000 acres that allows his guides exclusive access on many miles of streams, rivers and more than 20 mountain lakes. Antunez manages these unique waters so that his clients are the only anglers fly fishing for the giant browns, rainbows, multicolored brook trout, and powerful kings, silvers and Atlantic salmon. Salmo Patagonia guests can also access the best of the many famous public waters from the lodge--the Simpson, Baker and Mañihuales rivers to name a few.
Following are descriptions of a few of Antunez' twenty-plus exclusive access waters:
- Nunca Jamás (Neverland)
- Big rainbows, 16-24 inches. Wade and sight fish big hoppers and streamers. Expect to catch 15 to 20 trout or more a day.
- Toqui River
- This incredible clear-water river holds king salmon averaging 40 pounds and silver salmon ranging from 15 to 20 pounds in 8 miles of water. Wade fish for salmon and brown trout.
- Nirehuao River
- We own land on and control access to 10 miles of this prolific river full of brown trout up to 30 inches.
- Z River
- Incredible hatches allow you to catch numbers of 10- to16-inch trout while wading and dry fly fishing this classic chalksteam. Anglers routinely catch 50 plus fish per day.
- Alpine Lake
- Full of alpine rainbows that routinely feed on the surface allowing sight casting with dry flies while walking and wading the shallows and flats. Fishermen average releasing 40 fish each day and as many as 100 on some occasions. Fish average 12 inches--great fun on a 3- or 4-weight rod.
- Elf River
- Sight fishing in a beautiful, remote chalkstream full of huge browns that run to 30 or more pounds. Anglers routinely catch 6- to 10-pound trophy trout.
